Hammer-on denim hardware with your logo in relief: antique tack buttons, donut buttons, rivets and nail posts that survive stone-wash and industrial laundering. Sample boards let brands confirm every finish before bulk, we match shank type to fabric weight, and orders ship from Wenzhou with MOQ and sample timing are confirmed after the specification is reviewed.
The metal button on jeans is called a jeans tack button. It is a two-part, press-on fastener: the visible cap sits on the front of the waistband while a tack, nail or post passes through the denim from the back. Buyers may also call it a jeans button tack, denim button or hammer-on jeans button.

Request price & samples →Denim hardware is brand real estate. We manufacture jeans tack buttons (move-shank and fixed-shank), rivets and burrs in 17, 20, 22 and 25 mm with embossed or engraved logos, plus matching brass, stainless or plastic nail-post options selected for the waistband build and wash process.
Finishes cover the full denim vocabulary — antique brass, antique copper, antique silver, gunmetal, matte black, vintage tin — and we can oxidize or tumble for a worn look out of the box. Specify any needle-detection requirement in the tech pack, then approve the selected material and pull-off strength on buttons attached to the production fabric.
Use this as a starting point, then approve the cap, shank and nail combination on the actual washed production fabric.
| Application | Starting size | Construction | Confirm before bulk |
|---|---|---|---|
| Five-pocket fashion jeans | 17 mm | Move-shank tack button | Waistband thickness, nail length and wash finish |
| Heavyweight denim | 20 mm | Move-shank or fixed-shank | Fabric layers, washer and pull-off test |
| Canvas and workwear | 22–25 mm | Fixed-shank tack button | Post material, press setting and retention |
| Pocket reinforcement | 8–9 mm rivet | Rivet and burr set | Leg length, back cap and abrasion after washing |
Approve the button, tack, die and washed waistband as one attachment system. A cap photo alone cannot confirm nail length, shank engagement or pull-off performance on the production fabric. Use the jeans button failure guide to record the hole condition, waistband stack, setting setup and finished-garment evidence.

The metal waistband button is usually called a jeans tack button. It consists of a visible cap and a tack, nail or post that is pressed through the denim from the back.
Choose brass or copper shells with brass or stainless nails. These materials are used where the button and tack must resist wash abrasion and corrosion; the finish and attachment should be tested on the production fabric.
17 mm suits many five-pocket jeans and women's denim; 20 mm is used for heavier denim; 22–25 mm suits workwear and statement waistbands. Confirm the size on the garment sample before bulk production.
Move-shank or swivel buttons rotate slightly and can reduce stress on denim. Fixed shanks suit heavier canvas and workwear. The fabric weight, washer thickness and pull test should guide the final choice.
State the retailer or factory detection standard and threshold in the tech pack. The selected material should then be checked on an attached pre-production sample before the bulk order is approved.
